I know that TCPware used to support VMS 4.7, I used it back then. The current version says it will work with VMS 5.5-2 or newer, if I recall.= An old copy of TCPware might work, likewise an old copy of MultiNet or UCX= . Does the system have a CD-ROM drive of any kind, or a tape drive? You should not need DECnet running at all, although the reference to DM= F-0 makes me think of serial DECnet. If it's a VAX 11/785, it is probably using a DEUNA two-card ethernet controller, or possibly a single card one. Those tended to prefer havi= ng "heartbeat" ("SQE") enabled on the transceiver.
