I am looking for a dialer software that would establish a PPP context to a dialup server, but would look like a NIC in Windows. The idea is to make one PPP context through MS dialup networking and another one through a virtual NIC, so that these two could be controlled independently from windows. That means that the product should use a PPP stack of its own. The other option is an approach where one could see 2 different WAN Miniports in Windows. Normally with 2 dialup connections there is only one WAN Miniport visible. Anybody knows whether there are such products around? I want to do this so that I can make that user have a different set of logicals. I had assumed that I would need to define a new realm to do this, so went to RSM to set one up. (I currently only have the original default realm - and have up until now edited the .DB file directly) However upon trying to change anything through RSM I get the following error message. Error: Unable to write configuration database file I have set the protection of the the .DB file to W:RWED, but still get the same error. Can anyone suggest a solution? If you want different username you will have to have multiple DB files. I think this is covered in the 'Advanced Configuration' section of the documentation. As for debugging the RSM problem I would start by turning on audit alarms (set audit/alarm/enable=file=fail=all) and then watch for OPCOM messages. regards Mike -- +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Michael Corbett Email: Corbett@process.com Process Software Phone: 800 722-7770 x369 959 Concord St. 508 879-6994 x369 Framingham MA 01701-4682 FAX: 508 879-0042 ================================================================================ Archive-Date: Thu, 28 Nov 2002 08:38:10 -0400 Date: Thu, 28 Nov 2002 08:35:20 -0500 From: "Callard, Gavin A."
