[DECNET]: tcp > %TCPWARE-F-ECONNRESET, connection reset by peer Your service definition for ANU-NEWS is all wrong. It should be: ADD SERVICE NNTP STREAM TCPWARE:NNTP_SERVER.EXE - /PROCESS_NAME = NNTP - /NOACCOUNTING - /NOAUTHORIZE - /ERROR = NLA0: - /UIC = [SYSTEM] - /AST_LIMIT = 50 - /BUFFER_LIMIT = 10240 - /ENQUEUE_LIMIT = 100 - /EXTENT = 1024 - /FILE_LIMIT = 50 - /IO_BUFFERED = 16 - /IO_DIRECT = 16 - /MAXIMUM_WORKING_SET = 4096 - /PAGE_FILE = 10000 - /PRIORITY = 4 - /PRIVILEGES = (NOSAME, SYSPRV, PHY_IO, NETMBX, TMPMBX, WORLD) - /QUEUE_LIMIT = 8 - /WORKING_SET = 1024 - /SUBPROCESS_LIMIT = 0 You were using "TCP" not "STREAM". You're also using a .COM file, which won't work because ANU-NEWS expects SYS$INPUT and SYS$OUTPUT to be the INET socket it uses for I/O. Use the above service definition. - Bernie Volz Process Software Corporation ================================================================================ Archive-Date: XXX, 22 Dec 1993 09:58:40 PST Subject: Message-ID: <1993Dec22.095840.1@mlnaxp.mln.com> From: henderson@mlnaxp.mln.com Date: 22 Dec 93 09:58:40 PST Anyone from Process Software reading this newsgroup? I'll check into why the sales department has not responded to your request. There is no unread mail for sales. I would recommend that you resend your message (cc me a copy) - perhaps there is a problem with some mailer between you and us? Happy Holidays - Bernie Volz Process Software Corporation PS: Due to the holidays, we are closed on the 24th. So, don't expect a response from Sales until Monday the 27th. ================================================================================ Archive-Date: XXX, 29 Dec 1993 15:25:30 +0200 Subject: Call the police ! In the latest DEC Professional, you advertised TCPWARE 3.1 for a price of $ 1.095. This was a complete kit for a Microvax II or 3100. Now, one of the Swedish resellers of TCPWARE (we have bought several kits during the last year) offered my the same kit, for the same hardware, but for a price of 27.000 SEK. This is (with todays exchange rate, $ 3.300. Can you bealive this ! More that 3 times the price for the same product !!! And no costs for translation, swedish manuals etc. With this kind of price policy, I could *fly* to the US and buy a copy each time I need a new kit... So, is it possible to buy directly from Process Software, or an US reseller ? This may have caused you to believe that you paid too high a price for the software which you purchased. I [Ed Brohm] would be happy to discuss your order with our distributor to insure that your system was priced appropriately. If you wish to speak with me, you may reach me in the US at (508) 879-6994. I hope this clears any confusion or concerns you may have." Hope that helps you. - Bernie Volz Process Software Corporation
